Fall is here and things are getting hectic!

Well, fall is here and things are getting more busy than ever! It is breeding time for our babydoll sheep. That means lots of work to do to get the barns and the animals ready for all the new lambs this coming spring.

We've been busy cutting wood to heat through the winter. Hard to keep up with cleaning up the down trees and clearing out the ones that need cut down. It's a lot of work, but we really enjoy it. There is nothing more satisfying than a hard day of work.

My parents have also been busy digging a pond so we've been helping put in docks and fish structure. Should be lots of fun next summer! Their pond has a nice big beach area - plenty of room for all the kids to play : )

And of course my holiday orders are really taking off! I am busy busy busy with both baked good orders and soap orders. I've had quite a few custom cake and cupcake orders recently too.

I am starting a new soap line. Something a little more feminine. I've started with some beautiful roses and plan to have an assortment of delicate flowers, shells, and others. I am so excited to start this new line and offer a variety of different color combinations.

I also have a new adult soap mold. Something perfect for bachelor parties. Coming soon ; )

Should be a busy weekend for us. We have a craft show planned on Saturday with my daughter running the soap booth and me running my baked goods table. We will have a wide range of goodies - assortment of home baked cookies, buckeyes, turtles, chocolate dipped cherries, chocolate dipped pretzels, rice crispy treats, oreos, puppy chow and more.

Just a quick recap of all the crazy things we've been up to. I really need to blog more to share all of my projects and corny stories.

Another year older

I can't believe my daughter is 9 already! She is growing up way too fast! Seems like just yesterday she was a newborn.

Well, I didn't go all out with a dessert station for her like I did last year. We kept it simple this time since we have been so busy. She requested a popcorn cake this year so we made one together. We added plenty of M&Ms and chocolate chips (they melted and were oh so yummy). It turned out very good. I also made some simple brownies with fudge frosting as well. We also bought a Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake - the chocolate fudge one. It was so good! I think we might have to celebrate more birthdays with these : )

She loves American Girl. She had a list a mile long for different American girl items she would like to get. We got her a few things, but are hoping to teach her responsibility by having her save up some of her birthday money on the other things she would like. She has quite the assortment now, but she always manages to find something new she likes when they send the latest catalog. : ) I think she has already started her Christmas list

She not only turned 9 this year, but joined 4H as well. She won Honorable Mention for her yogurt and fruit Parfait. She called it her rainbow parfait. She did great for her first year! She wants to do either another food project, a wood working project or we've discussed her taking turkeys next year. She is definitely ambitious. We are so proud of her!

Been awhile

Well it has been forever since I posted up. I don't know where the summer has gone! We've been so busy with the usually to-do projects plus finding time to relax and enjoy ourselves.

We've been very blessed to have great friends and family to do so many fun things we normally don't slow down to do. We've been camping, fishing, boating and so much more.

At the beginning of summer the kids made up a wish list. We did pretty good at getting it widdled down. : )

Now on to our fall projects. Hoping we have plenty of time to get the outside projects done - painting, etc. All the while trying to get a head start on the holiday rush.

I have quite a few new soaps since I've posted last. I have a few new ones for Halloween and I'm hoping to add a new, more delicate ladies collection in time for Christmas. I am so excited to share my new creations.

The weather is also cooling down so I will be adding my chocolate candies for sale again soon.

So many new, exciting things on the horizon : )

Spring and some new soaps

I have spring fever! The weather is slowing warming up and the flowers are starting to bloom. I can't wait for summer!

In the meantime, I've been working on more soaps. I thought the new Lemon cream Soap was a great new springtime addition. It smells so good and is so bright and cheery. I was pleasantly surprised how much I like this scent.

I also made some lavender soaps. I'm not a big lavender fan, but it smells so soothing and relaxing.

I've been making peep soaps like crazy. I had to get a picture of all of them lined up. A little peep army ready to fight the forces of dirt. lol I have one little lone black peep. This little guy was an accident - the vanilla fragrance turned. I must have missed putting stabilizer in it. I couldn't resist adding him in for the picture.

Birthday Boy

Well my son finally turned 5! I can't believe it! He is growing up so fast!

I made a really quick mini cake for him. We aren't having his party for another week so he'll get his big cake then, but I wanted to do something little for him on his actual birthday. When I say I made it really quick, I did. I only spent 15 minutes frosting the darn thing. I'm almost embarassed, but he was happy with it. I printed out a Bubble Guppies picture for on top onto edible wafer paper. I had too much blue frosting so I was trying to use it up for all the bubbles around the side. He seemed to like it so that is all that matters : )

He got to pick his birthday meal. He chose Burger King. lol Grandma and Grandpa came over to celebrate with us. All in all, he had a good day and finished it up with a couple of presents.

I made these funny smiley face sugar cookies to take to school for his classmates. He wasn't sure what kind of cookies he wanted me to make, but seemed so excited with these. He just loved all the different expressions and colors.

Hubby finally got his birthday gift. A little late, but in plenty of time to enjoy when the weather warms up. We are so excited! Hoping the weather will break so we can take it out and enjoy it. We are planning a couple of nice, relaxing trips this summer.

Hubby has waited a long time to get back out on the water. He really deserves this! We both love fishing so we're planning to get good use out of it. The kids are excited to go out on it as well, maybe not for fishing, but for cruising and swimming : )

Yesterday was my Hubby's birthday! 33 years old - and of course I had to give him a hard time about being old. : ) We took him out for a special birthday dinner and then went home to open gifts and eat his birthday pie. The kids were so sweet and made their own cards. Taylor designed her own Birthday coupons - good for all kinds of things.

I made up a Peanut Butter Cream Pie - his absolute favorite. It isn't the prettiest pie, but it tasted yummy. I would have had more reese's cups to crumble on top, but the kids were eating them faster than I could get them on the pie. : )

All in all, it was a very nice day. The sun came out and it warmed up a little, so that helped make his birthday a little more special. Sam has been going stir crazy not being able to take his bike or the boat out. Spring can't come soon enough.

My son will be turning 5 soon. I can't believe it! Seems like just yesterday he was a baby. He said he wants a Bubble Guppies cake/party. : ) This might be a tough one. I've only seen the show once myself. It is very cute and colorful, but this could be a challenge.

So far, I have put together a quick invitation. I'll have to work out the rest of the details later and add them once I know. This is a fairly new show so finding things have been somewhat difficult so far.

I have also put together a quick Thank you tag. I am going to give away my goldfish soaps as Thank you's and attach this tag. I thought the goldfish soap would go great with this theme. The kids should love them.

I finally drew up my design for the cake. If everything goes to plan it is going to be 3 layers. I'm planning on making a couple of the characters out of gumpaste to add to the cake. I've got so much to do and I'm hoping he likes it. It seems every year the kids come up with more and more elaborate ideas to keep my hopping.

I would love to do a dessert station. I've got several things planned - gummy fish, gummy sharks, bubbles, coordinating cake balls, etc. I could go on and on. I am trying to keep this small as it will be close to Easter and we will have so much candy on hand anyway.

Mickey Mouse!

I got a special request for some Mickey and Minney Mouse cookies for a birthday. I found a cute idea online and did something similar.

I thought they turned out pretty cute. The customer wanted them personalized with the children's names and a cute little bow for the girls. I made the cookie cutter myself. I would definitely love to do more with this cutter.

My daughter is so talented and such a little entrepreneur. At only 8 years old she really shows some initiative and a lot of creativity. She has made numerous cookies, drawings, etc that she has tried to sell. Her latest endeavor was to make her own erasers. She wasn't sure what to make so she did a variety of things. Fruits, vegetables, a volcano, bus, mushroom, snail, smiley face, a blue and gold tiger (school mascot), an apple tree, and a pancake just to name a few.

I think her erasers turned out awesome! I just love that she is so crafty and shows such potential.

We are so proud! She got Student of the Month at school! She was so excited to come home with her certificate and tell us about it.

Her latest sugar cookies. She got the idea for some angry bunnies from a commercial she saw. I would have never thought to use a bib cookie cutter as a bunny. Very good idea!

Lambs, lambs everywhere

Well, it is that time of year again. Spring is here (I keep hoping anyway - now for the weather to cooperate)!

We started having our babydoll lambs last week. We are up to 21 already!! We have our hands full! We had our first set of triplets and are so excited! Most of our ewes are giving us twins this year, but...... almost all of them are boys!! I guess I shouldn't complain as they are all healthy little butterballs running around, but we need ewe lambs so bad.

I am praying we have more ewe lambs. We have around 12 ewes to lamb yet, so hopefully they cooperate!

Ram lambs are $175 each. Bottlefeeding is an additional $45. We are sold out of our ewe lambs. Email us if you are interested in a ram lamb. They will be available after weaning - the first of April. We have both black and white available.

I need to get some better pictures of these cuties! They are all so adorable. Now..... what to name them all? : )

Babies!!

I have done several custom Baby goodies lately so I thought I would share. All of the gumpaste babies are completely edible except for the African American baby's hair. I used wool for a life like appearance. These are great for cupcake or cake toppers and will actually make great keepsakes. Babies keep wonderfully for years if kept in a dry, well ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

Here are some of my newest soap creations.

Easter egg soaps in assorted colors. Scented in Brown Sugar. A cute addition for this Easter season. Actual size eggs.

Cute, mini cupcake soaps in assorted colors. I scented these cuties in birthday cake fragrance. Yum! Almost good enough to eat and oh so adorable!

My new goldfish in a bag soap. I scented these cute little guys in Fruit Loops. They smell so much like the cereal it is unbelievable. The kids just love these!

My goldfish aquarium soap. Complete with a little plant - hey, it wouldn't be complete without some plant life. I scented these in vanilla.

Oh look... a clue! Blue's Clues paw print soap. This would make a great party favor! I scented it in Grape Soda. It is one of my favorite kid scents. It smells so good!

Lego Blocks. I already make the lego men so why not cute little blocks to go with them. I scented these in Berries and Cream to coordinate with the lego men.

Valentine's Day Goodies

Well it has been forever since I've updated my blog. I've been so busy with Valentine's Day orders.

I have so many new projects I've been working on and so many I need to start. Easter will be here before we know it!

My new, chocolate dipped Campfire marshmallows on sticks. These are the giant, campfire size. I had never seen these before so I had to make something good with them. The kids just loved them and took them to school for treats.

Here are just a few of my Valentine cupcake toppers. I made each one of these with a mix of gumpaste/fondant. A cute, colorful assortment. Each one is edible and oh so cute!

The next picture is of my Watermelon scented Valentine Soaps. I just love how these turned out! A nice assortment of goat's milk and glycerin soaps. A very cute way to say "I Love You!"

I have several new Valentine cookie designs I never got a chance to make. It is on my "list" so I hope to have some pictures of my trial runs soon. Better late than never...right?! : )

Marshmallow Peep Soaps

I finally got them done! I managed to make the mold myself and get these cute little guys made. I just love them! Perfect for Easter time.

I had to do a color assortment like the actual peeps. I even scented these little guys with toasted marshmallow fragrance. They smell almost good enough to eat!

Blue robin egg soaps. Scented in brown sugar fragrance. I just love these cute little soaps!

Natural colored eggs. Also scented in brown sugar fragrance.

Jelly Bean soaps. Scented in berries. Cute little glycerin soaps. Actual size of edible jelly beans.

More Jelly Bean soaps (goat's milk). Also scented in berries. I had to make the dreaded black jelly bean as well. I just love these delicate little soaps!

I have some very special soaps in the works. I hope to have them finished and available for sale soon. I am really exicted to offer these.

Here are just a few of my new Valentine's Day soaps. A very untraditional, but neat way to say "I love you"

Giant Hershey Kiss soap. Scented in rich, hershey kiss chocolate fragrance. Almost good enough to eat! Kiss tag can be customized with a personal message.

Puffy heart soaps in an assortment of reds, pinks and white. A mix of both goat's milk and glycerin soap. Fresh Strawberry scent. Oh so good!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner. I know it sounds crazy to say, but it will be here before we know it.

I wanted to make some mini cookies that would fit in my pretzel rod bags. I think these are so cute for sending a little message to someone special.

I also did a giant cookie complete with a mini heart cookie stamp. Another very simple way to send someone a message letting them know just how special they are for Valentine's Day.

I know it sounds crazy, but I am already working on Easter ideas. I have quite a few new soaps in mind for the upcoming Holiday. I am so excited! I've ordered new molds so I am anxious to try them out. I am even going to attempt to make some custom molds for some special soaps I want to make. I really need to get things moving so I can have them made and ready to sell soon. Easter will be here before we know it. I have several new ideas for Valentine's day as well. Too many ideas and not enough time! : )

Speaking of Easter and bunny rabbits.... I just made up some custom bunny cookies for a special birthday girl. She wasn't picky about what she wanted - just cute bunnies. She is turning 10 so I decided to make her a special cookie as well.

I also made up some cute lego men soap in pastels. I thought these little guys would be an adorable gift for Easter or a nice addition to an Easter basket.

Christmas rush

Well the last couple of weeks have been so busy!! The holidays are always busy and this Christmas was no different! Several weeks with minimal sleep just trying to keep up with orders plus hosting our family Christmas get-together has kept me running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

I had several requests for custom goodies and soaps over the last couple of weeks. I have several new cookie designs in the works. I just haven't had the chance to even make them yet. I hope to have some samples made in the next day or so. I can't wait to share them. In the meantime, here are some pictures of my latest.

Santa Poop Soap - chocolate scented but full of red and green peppermint bits. : ) My daughter is already brainstorming ideas for Valentine's Day and Easter poop soap. We have all gotten a good chuckle out of the Poop Soap. It has been selling like crazy! I haven't been able to make it fast enough. Who would have thought?! My poop (that does not stink) is in high demand. lol

This is my gingerbread swirl soap. I just love how this smells. I had to make some of this around the holidays. It smells so good! It is a very warm, inviting soap with just the perfect tough of cinnamon and spice.

Custom Princess Cookies. I made the cookie cutter myself. I thought these turned out cute.

Custom giant chocolate chip cookie. You can't tell from the picture, but I dusted it with edible glitter for that special Christmas touch.

I was so busy trying to get orders out I didn't have a chance to take some good pictures of my gift boxes. The first is a sampler gift box. It includes: fudge, oreos, grahams, rice crispy treat, pretzels, peppermint bark, brittle, cherries, turtles and buckeyes. The second is a custom gift box with Starbucks coffee, homemade chunky applesauce, peppermint snowflake soap, peppermint bark, and a coffee mug full of buckeyes. I am adding it to my list to come up with a good holiday gift box sampler and get good pictures before next Christmas : )

Craft/Bake Sale

Had a very good weekend. We attended a local Craft/Bake sale on Saturday. It went very well! We took a large variety of cookies and candies and took our soaps for the first time. It is such a compliment to hear people are there specifically looking for my goodies and to hear how much they enjoyed them last year.

The soaps were a huge hit! I was so surprised at how well they sold. I sold out of my poop soaps, cupcake soaps, berries and cream soaps and maple pecan spice soaps. I got quite a few compliments.

It was a nice, enjoyable day with my daughter helping me. She says one day she wants to take over the business. Times like that make me want to work even harder to make my business a great success. I would love to work side by side with her until I'm too old to work anymore. : )

I even managed to do a little shopping before the show started and found some really awesome handmade rugs for my laundry room. Really pretty!

I will definetly be attending the show again next year. I just love it (hard work and all) and look forward to it each year.

Yesterday was my Mom's birthday! Happy Birthday! She turned 60 so we had to harass her about it : )

I can only hope that I can be just as great as she is. Thank you Mom for all you do. For all your sacrifices and unconditional love. You are truly amazing! Not to mention, you are the best Grandma our kids could ever ask for. We love you so much!

More New Soaps

Was so busy this past Holiday weekend. In between my other projects, I decided to start some more new soaps.

I finally got my Lego man mold. They are so cute! I used Berries to scent them. The kids love them.

I also made more poop soap : ) I made peppermint scented snowman poop complete with glitter on top.

I had to gross out my hubby with some corn filled poop soap. LOL I am having way too much fun with this. They are selling great so I'm not the only one with a sick sense of humor!

I also got this paw print mold for free so I thought I would make a soap for my daughter's teacher. Will make a great gift for Christmas - school colors are blue and gold - Tigers.

Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a really great Thanksgiving! We had such a great day! One of our best Thanksgivings so far.

Our family meal was on Saturday so we went to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving. I thought it sounded strange at first (my hubby's suggestion), but we had such a wonderful time last year when we did it that we had to do it again. My parents, sister and her family came along this year. It was a great time and the best part of all - relaxing! and no dishes to clean up. : ) It was such a nice, peaceful day with wonderful family.

We finished up the day at the movie theater watching Tangled. Such a good movie! We are definitely going to have to get the DVD. We really enjoyed it. All in all, we are making some really great memories for our kids. We want them to remember what is important in life and be surrounded with people that love them.

Welcome Howdy - our latest addition!

We went and picked up this cute little guy this past weekend. He is so adorable and such a cute little furball!

He is only 3 months old, but is already out with the rest of our donkeys. Howdy escaped his pen to go out and graze with Jackson, Chloe, and Molly. He isn't quite sure about the sheep yet, but he'll get used to them soon enough.

We are so glad to have him as a part of our barnyard family. : )

We celebrated my parent's birthdays this past weekend. It was so nice to celebrate with them. We are so very blessed to have them.

They always do so much for all of us. Mom is the absolute greatest - she has always been there for us, always loved us. You couldn't ask for a better Mom and Grandmother. Dad on the other hand is a different story..... : ) Just teasing! Thanks so much to both of them - We love and appreciate them more than they know.

We took them out for a nice dinner and finished up the evening with a couple of yummy pies and presents. We didn't even embarass them at the restaurant with song and dance. LOL

Poop

It is official....my poop does not stink. : )

It looks like poop, but actually smells quite wonderful, like chocolate actually. My new chocolate scented poop soap.

This would make a great gag gift! Perfect for those people that think their crap doesn't stink or for those haters that wished theirs didn't. lol

I'll be making more - maybe in different scents. ? The kids thought fudge brownie would be good. I think a bubble gum or fruit loop scented terd would be nice too : )

New Soap Molds

I got some new molds yesterday so after everyone went to bed I had to try them out.

The kids went nuts over the cars soaps. They just loved them and were busy fighting over them this morning before school. Guess they will be playing in the bath tonight : )

I then made some cute mini cupcake soaps with Lemon frosting and cherry bottoms. They turned out cute, but I want to try all different color combos. These could make cute party favors.

I was in a bright, cheery mood last night so I decided to make rainbow soap while I was working on some of the others. I thought they turned out cute, but will lighten the blue and purple next time and tint the red darker so it doesn't look so orange. All in all, I think they turned out cute and smelled great - Cherry. I used a bar this morning and love it!

And my favorite of all.... (so far anyway) Berries and Cream Swirled Soap. I just love how this smells! Plus I love how the swirls turned out. I think they are a very pretty bar of soap. I'll have to save some of this for me to use : )

Wood, Wood Everywhere!

Well, we should be all set for winter now : ) I can already hear the fire cracklin. There's nothing better than curling up in front of the fireplace with the family and just enjoying the cold from inside.

We were busy this past weekend cutting wood. We have quite a bit for the next couple of winters, but wanted to get some fallen wood up off the ground before it went bad. We managed to fill up one large area of our barn and started on another. It was everywhere..... and we still have tons more to finish up yet.

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to some good friends of ours for coming out and helping! We really appreciate all their hard work! Pictures don't include all the loads they went home with. We have been really blessed and glad we're able to share with them. We had a great time and enjoyed the food/company after all the hard work.

Well I've been busy at it again making soaps.

This week I was in a warm, chocolate mood so I made Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Rich, Hot Cocoa. I also made Strawberry Cream. They all smell so good!

Just when I think we can't possibly add more to our little homestead..... : )

We now have an adorable pair of miniature pot belly pigs! Bella and Bezel are new to our farm and oh so sweet!

They are adjusting quite well and have been a real joy to add to our farm. They just love nibbling treats out of our hands. Bella just loves burying herself in the straw and sleeping the day away. We are hoping to breed them late winter so we can have some cute spring piglets. We are so excited!

We are so glad to have these guys! I need to get some better pictures, but they still are a little camera shy : )

I just love soap making! I've just recently started this new portion of the business and absolutely love it! Been having a lot of fun and the fragrances are amazing!

Handmade Goats Milk Soap. Each one is unique and one of a kind.

I have over 20 different fragrances. I am looking forward to several of them. Apple Cinnamon Spice sounds so nice for fall. I also have Gingerbread, Fudge Brownie, Strawberry, Black Raspberry, Cake, Sugar Cookie, etc. They all smell so good so I am excited to get going on these.

I've ordered my soap making supplies! I should recieve everything soon. I am so excited! I can't wait to start.

I will be offering a wide variety of scents - fudge brownie, banana cream pie, apple, sugar cookie, rootbeer, brown sugar, gingerbread, etc - Just to name a few.

It should be a lot of fun. I've been so busy lately I just hope I can find the time : )

We spent a very nice weekend at our church's family retreat. Perfect weather for an outdoor event! We had a great time! Pastor Wayne had some really great activities and sermons.

We went for a horseback ride, ate tons of good food and enjoyed a comical hay ride late Saturday night.

The kids loved all the horses and other animals (You would think we didn't have any the way they were carrying on).

We are so blessed to have such a great Pastor to put this on and such a great Farm so close. Check out both here:

American Girl

My daughter caught the American Girl bug. : ) She saved up and bought herself an American Girl Doll. She's decided to name her Madison. She has made out her Christmas list (and it keeps growing!) - clothes, pets, shoes, etc

Everything is so expensive for these dolls, but it is giving her a very good lesson in managing her money and saving up.

She just loves the new baking set and wants it for Christmas. She says her and Madison will bake while I am working on orders. : )

Finally had my daughter's birthday party. She wanted to do a farm theme so this is what I came up with for her dessert buffet. I made custom water bottle labels that said "Happy Birthday Taylor" I made chocolate dipped marshmallows on a stick, chocolate graham crackers, chocolate oreos, and chocolate dipped pretzel rods (all in coordinating colors).

I added a bucket of gummy worms and called them our "Garden worms". I made up some puppy chow and some yummy caramel corn. Some of the corn I shaped into ears and covered with green fruit roll ups so they looked more like sweet corn. I also dipped cake, cookie and brownie balls. I decorated rice crispy treats to look like straw bales. I displayed some chocolate raisins and called them "Sheep Poop".

I made several coordinating sugar cookies - pigs, chickens, sheep, horseshoes, barns and cow spotted rounds.

I made thank you favor bags out of bandanas. I added farm animal squeeze toys, animal tattoos and stickers and some of my homemade candy. We tied them shut with ribbon and a matching Thank you tag.

I made the Happy Birthday banner, cupcake liners, food labels, thank yous and invitations to all match the Farm theme she wanted. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first time.

She wanted chocolate for the cake and cupcakes so I made a double fudge cake with buttercream frosting. I made the barn and animals out of gumpaste. She wanted to save them for display so I will add them to the other figures I've made for her. Last year was a jungle theme so she has several jungle animals on display now. I just love making them for her.

We served hot dogs, sloppy joes, veggies and mac & cheese. The sloppy joes were made with some of our own homegrown ground hamburger and lamb. Very tasty!

The kids played several games. They bobbed for apples, played cornhole and pin the tail on the donkey. Everyone seemed to have a good time. The 4-wheeler rides helped with that too : )

The donkeys were a hit - they just loved all the attention.

It was fun, but I'm exhausted. : ) Now to start thinking about what I will be doing for Seth's party in April.....

She wants to keep the figures. We have a small shelf in her room we can set them on - as long as her brother doesn't eat them : )

New Projects

We are back from vacation and I'm ready to start so many new projects. : ) (My husband is rolling his eyes in the background). I have too many started already, but what is a few more?!

I am really excited to start new goodies - nougats, caramels, and marshmallows. I've done caramels off and on before, but have several new, great flavors to offer. They are so rich and creamy! The nougats are so yummy and will be in two different flavors - toasted almond and hazel nut. Yum! Just like the caramels, I have made them before, but just didn't have the time to focus on them as much as I wanted. I am still perfecting my marshmallow flavors. I have several good ones so far, but need to narrow down what I will be offering.

My next idea steers away from baked goods and focuses on soap. I told my husband I wanted to get a dairy goat and use the milk. I would love to someday make cheese, but that is not going to be anytime too soon. I would also love to make soap with it. Well, we haven't gotten a goat yet, but this darn soap project is still tempting me, so.... Yes, I am now going to be making soaps in a variety of scents. I never knew there were so many fragrances out there! It is going to take me forever to make up my mind. Oh well, at least we'll be very clean doing it.

Well, it is that time of year again. Our annual trip to Canada! Woo Hoo! We are so excited. Hoping we catch some monster fish! And of course, we'll have plenty of pictures to share when we return. I am so ready for vacation : )

This is a few days late, but my girl just turned 8! Seems like just yesterday she was a baby. She is growing up way too fast!

We kept it simple - dinner with family, cream puffs and a few presents : ) Her big birthday party was pushed back to September. We just didn't have the time and our schedules didn't work out to do it until later.

We are planning lots of special things! She wants to do a farm party (very fitting). So, we are planning some farm favors, animal poo candy, and lots of games. Of course, a barn cake with coordinating cupcakes. We are even going to set up a custom dessert station. It should be lots of fun! Who knows?! Maybe this (dessert stations) we'll be our new business venture. : )

School

I can't believe the summer has flown by as fast as it has! Today was the first day of school. My little man started his first day of school. I think I was more nervous than he was! He was so excited. He has been begging to go to school and ride the bus for months now.

Not 10 seconds after getting on the bus he was chit chatting with a little girl in the seat beside him. He is going to do fine : ) It is me that is having a hard time dealing with him growing up.

Been Busy

We have been so busy lately. We have been remodeling and painting our laundry room with plans to start on the bathroom soon as well. Not to mention, we have been so busy with our outside projects as well. We have been working on the landscaping - building new flower beds and spreading loads and loads of mulch.

Just a little background info: We bought our dream house almost 3 years ago. We knew going into it that it needed alot of work and it has been a challenge. Everything had just been neglected for so long. We have been working non-stop to repair roofs, clean barns, paint, patch and fix about everything.

We are getting there slowly but surely. Some days my TO DO List grows three times faster than I can get it done. This is all on top of my 2 jobs, baking and the animals. Whew.... it can be exhausting, but I love every minute of it. We have been so blessed!!

Special brick and chimney cookies made for my uncle. He came out to check a crack we have in our chimney so I wanted to say Thank you. Turns out the chimney is fine so he saved us alot of time and trouble.

John Deere Baby Cookies

LOL! I had alot of fun with these. A good friend just had a baby. He is a farmer and absolutely hates John Deere so of course I have to tease him about it. Who doesn't like John Deere?!

They had a baby boy so I thought the green and yellow theme would go perfectly. I was going to try to frost the logos myself by hand but ran out of time so I just printed them on wafer paper. They didn't print the greatest, but they worked. Maybe one of these days I'll try my hand at frosting these instead of cheating : )

This was also my first attempt at 3D cookies. I didn't think it was too bad considering I cut them out by hand. Poor tractors didn't stand up very well.

I love my new Alphabet cookie cutters. I think the letters are adorable!

Cincinnati Zoo

Well, our trip to the Cincinnati zoo was great! Very nice and the staff is just wonderful to work with! We delivered the last 4 lambs to them - Sumac, Poppy, Cactus and Mandrake. I am going to miss those little guys!

We got to see the first batch we dropped off a couple of months ago. They are spoiled rotten and so fat! : ) They are very well taken care of and the kids seemed to love them. The sheep really enjoy being part of the petting zoo.

This poor girl was just trying to give them a snack and they attacked her. : ) I missed getting a picture of Laurel (the black one) climbing in her lap.

Cincinnati Here We Come...again

We are going to be heading to the Cincinnati Zoo again. This time with 4 more of our lambs. They bought a total of 10 from us for their new petting zoo exhibit.

I can't wait to see the first batch we dropped off several months ago. We are always to glad/sad to see the lambs go. We really enjoy them. We know they will be really happy at the zoo. They just love attention!

Buffalo Zoo

We officially sold 3 of our lambs to the Buffalo zoo. We know they will love all the attention there.

We had a great trip. We delivered them on Friday afternoon, toured the zoo and headed to Niagra to check out the falls. It made for a very nice family vacation.

We have been so busy lately!! We've had family visiting (sad : ( to see them going home already), we just got more Babydoll sheep, and we are heading to New York!!

We are really excited about our New York trip. We are taking 3 of our lambs to the Buffalo zoo for their new petting zoo. After a lot of work and help from our vet we wanted to make him up some special "Thank You" cookies.

Unfortunately, I ran out of time on these. I would have loved to come up with some additional designs. Of course we couldn't say Thank You without some sheep cookies.

I also made up a cute sheep assortment for the couple we bought our sheep off of. They were sad to see them go so I wanted to make a cute, cheerful assortment up for them.
